Routes of Sorrow - Phase 1, Northampton

Project Type

Installation

Date

2014

Location

Northampton

In April 2014, the Routes of Sorrow installation travelled to Northampton and later in the year to Birmingham, under the direction of the Head of Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care at St Andrew’s Healthcare facilities, Neil Tyrer.

In Northampton, it was set up in the chapel to coincide with Holy Week. Two workshops were arranged, one restricted to the Women’s and Adolescent Services, and the other restricted to the Men’s and NPS Services. These small groups took part in an examination of my artwork. People were invited to first listen to an overview of the artwork, and then given the opportunity to process the content of the installation through the production of their own artwork.

Later in 2014 the installation moved to Birmingham, where it was set up in the Multi-Faith room of the facility. Working with Marcela Matejickova, the Art Technical Instructor, workshops were again provided and artwork produced by some of the attendees.

The Outsider by Pam Foley©

I am always interested in what thoughts you may have about my work.

I am particularly interested to hear from others who have a brother or sister with one or more disabilities, as I do. Let's connect.
